Have Job...Will Travel

The meeting was today.
I will be going back to being a public health nurse.
Yeah.
I had a 2 week vacation with a stomach ache.

I can definitely empathize my big, scary, hairy, friend.

There are interesting anthropologic mores in this neck of the woods. Where culture says a man is tough, independent, hard-working and doesn't cry, it also connotes tenets for women - surreptitiousness (it's tough to respond to something you don't know is there - I have witnessed such conspicuous manipulation and dishonesty, I am surprised that most vendors don't recognize they are recognized!!), there is power in groups, particularly in gender specific spheres of political influence, and where a person has the opportunity to express criticism and demonstrate control, one often does in order to feel they have an essence of control (this is true for both boys and girls, just watch - hell, it's as ubiquitous an addiction as a booze or cigarettes!! As proof, take a look at how many bad decisions are made everyday!!!!

The good news is these are the best possible things for a person to experience. These are the very things that shape our lives and direct us onto our unique path - we just have to learn to differentiate that which needs to be acknowledged and ignored, and that which needs to be understood and utilized.

You are on your way to new pastures, and they are going back to untenable situations!!! Who has learned, and who has regressed.

Aaaahhhhhhhh the beauty of being a dysfuntional human - we can rationalize anything, and make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!!!!

Love ya.

PS Was that out loud?
